INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Carefully open the bag and pour the required amount of the product into a wax warmer, and heat until wax beads are completely melted.
2. Once melted, test the wax’s temperature on wrist before applying it on the skin for hair removal. For best results, prep your skin for waxing with Nacach Pre-Waxing Cleansing Lotion.
3. Using a clean spatula, apply hard wax in layers of about 2-3 mm in the direction of hair growth.
4. Wait a few moments until it cools, then quickly and firmly peel off against the direction of hair growth.
5. After treatment, we recommend the use of Nacach Wax post-depilatory creams to remove any wax residues and soothe the skin.

How to Mix Barbicide for Salon Use

Barbicide is iconic for its blue color, which has become a universal symbol of disinfection, present in the beauty industry since its debut in the late 1940s. Barbicide is a disinfectant used in barber and beauty shops to control the spread of germs. This article is to guide you on the proper use of Barbicide Concentrate to make sure you and your salon or spa is practicing proper infection control.

Before using any piece of equipment, you need to clean it. Remove any physical debris using a towel, Ship Shape, or soap and water. Once the piece of equipment is clean, disinfect it using Barbicide or another chemical disinfection solution.

MIX IT:
The proper mixing ratio for Barbicide is one of the most vital things you can do. The proper dilution is 2 oz. (or 1/4 cup) of Barbicide Concentrate mixed into 32 oz. of water (4 cups). This is the proper dilution, so you can kill all the pathogens listed on the EPA registered label (For a full list see the product label). This should be used in states that do not require a Tuberculocidal.

All non-porous surfaces in your salon should be disinfected. Single use items (like nail files or neck strips) should be thrown away after each use. Once you have mixed your solution there are several ways you can disinfect. BlueCo Brands has a handy saying for using Barbicide: "If you can, immerse it. If you can't, spray it."

IMMERSION:
For items like combs, shears, brushes and nail clippers immerse them in Barbicide for ten minutes. Those ten minutes (contact time) will ensure all the pathogens on the label are eradicated. Once the contact time is complete, remove the implements and rinse them with water. Store the tools in an air-tight container until you are ready to use them again.

Once the solution comes in contact with implements you need to change it 24 hours later, or sooner if contaminated.

SPRAY IT:
Counters and chairs are a little hard to dip in Barbicide, but still need to be disinfected. Spray counters, chairs, mirrors and sinks down. Once again, those need to be visibly wet for ten minutes, then wipe it with a clean cloth. The ten minute contact time is vital for proper infection control.

With these basic steps for using Barbicide you will be prepared to keep your salon clean and disinfected. Make sure you know how to use Barbicide, a staple in the Beauty Industry since 1947.

 As the stigma of male grooming falls away with each passing year, there is a larger and larger population of men who are interested in going to a spa for a multitude of services, including waxing, beard tinting and/or bleaching, brow lamination, and even lash lifts! 

This is a wide population that is largely untapped at this time. If you tweak your marketing and your menu, you can really tap into a loyal, mostly virgin client base!

Men have proven to be some of the most loyal clients. For starters, they may still feel a little bit uncomfortable when coming in for a service. If you make them feel welcome, heard, and educated (not to mention offer them a phenomenal service!), they will feel loyal to you, and will rarely look elsewhere for someone else to perform the same services.

Another aspect of offering men's services surrounds their retail habits. Men, again, are largely loyal. If you get them hooked on a product or two (or more), they will rarely go looking for the same product elsewhere. They know they get their moisturizer and eye serum from you, those items make them look attractive and feel more comfortable in their own skin, and they will continue to come to you to purchase that item. 

Does it seem like a huge undertaking to try to bring in male clientele? Start simple. Offer a specific menu tailored to men's services. Use photography with males in your marketing. Talk to your current loyal clients, and offer specials if they bring the males in their life in for a treatment.

How to care for stones:

Himalayan Salt can't hold bacteria because it is naturally antimicrobial and antibacterial. You may take an extra preventative step if you would like to use an EPA registered hospital-grade disinfectant like Decon 30. It is not toxic and has no harmful effect to your client, therapist, or Himalayan salt stones. 2-3 gentle sprays followed by immediately drying the stones thoroughly with a cotton towel. Stones may be lightly sanded using sandpaper if needed. To season new stones you may coat stones in massage oil for 5-15 minutes then wipe with a cotton towel to smooth the stone down. Stones will become smoother with each massage.
