It's All About the....Lashes!

Lash services are some of the most popular services a spa or salon can offer. From the spa's perspective, services such as lash/brow tinting, lash perming, and lash lifting are business smart because they are:

• Extremely profitable services
• Take up relatively little time (other than lash extensions, of course)
• Require very little storage space
• Great add-on services
• Keep clients coming back in on a regular basis

From the client's perspective, who wouldn't love to wake up looking like they have taken the time to curl their lashes and put on mascara? At a relatively low price point, these services are a super simple way to open up the face, and give clients a fresh, put-together look!

Lash perming and lash lifting have become increasingly popular lately. But what is the difference? It is actually very simple. The process is basically the same for both perming and lifting. The difference lies in the shape of the rod. Lash perming uses cylindrical rods, creating a definite C-shaped curl in the lash. The effect is dramatic. Our most popular lash perm products are the Refectocil Lash Perm - available in a convenient starter kit, as well as refill products to purchase as necessary! 

Lash lifting, by contrast, uses rods that are curved on one side, and flat on the other, thereby lifting the lashes from the base of the eyelid, but creating a more subtle curl in the lash. The effect is a subtle look that really opens and refreshes the face, without adding drama.

So, which should you offer? In my opinion, you should offer both - the more options your clients have, the more control they will feel, and the more likely they will take the plunge for that first service! In talking to your client, you can ask questions about their lifestyle, and get a better idea of which would be more suitable for them, and then suggest the appropriate service. If a client is more laid back and casual, the idea of a subtle lift might sound more appealing than a dramatic curl - or vice versa, of course!

Spring Cleaning!

This is a makeup brush cleansing pad in the shape of a heart. How adorable! This can be used by makeup artists or anyone who uses makeup brushes. What a great retail item! They are reusable and easy to clean.

Everyone who wears makeup needs one of these. How often do you clean your makeup brushes? They should be cleaned at least twice a month. This is an easy way to do this chore. 





To deep clean your brushes, put Make-up Brush Cleaner in a small bowl. Then dip your makeup brush into the solution (take care to keep the ferrule dry). Gently swirl the brush back and forth on the cleansing pad until all makeup residue is gone. Rinse in clean water, re-shape and lay flat to dry.

Winter Wonderland - Create An Unforgettable Experience This Season!

Looking for a way to generate some new life and buzz into your business? Have you tried creating a general Winter Theme? Here are some ways to get your minds turning:

Winter Scents
Smell is such a powerful sense, bring back snugly winter vibes with some aromatherapy. Here are some blends to try in a diffuser:

• Add 3 drops of Rosemary Essential Oil, 2 drops of Eucalyptus Essential Oil, and 3 drops of Peppermint Essential Oil for every 1 ounce of water
• Add 5 drops of Orange Essential Oil, 3 drops of Clove Essential Oil, and 1 drop of Cinnamon Essential Oil for every 1 ounce of water
• Add 3 drops of Balsam Fir Essential Oil, 3 drops of Cypress Essential Oil, and 2 drops of Cedarwood Essential Oil for every 1 ounce of water
• Add 10 drops of Frankincense Essential Oil, 5 drops of Myrrh Essential Oil, and 5 drops of Orange Essential Oil.

For a Cozy Massage

• Using your favorite unscented base, mix in with 1 drop of Rosemary Essential Oil, 1 drop of Eucalyptus Essential Oil, and 1 drop of Peppermint Essential Oil for every 4 ounces of  base
• Add 4 drops of Orange Essential Oil, 2 drops of Clove Essential Oil, and 1 drop of Cinnamon Essential Oil to every 4 ounces of base
• Add 2 drops of Balsam Fir Essential Oil, 1 drop of Cypress Essential Oil, and 1 drop of Cedarwood Essential Oil to every 4 ounces of base
• Add 5 drops of Frankincense Essential Oil, 2 drops of Myrrh Essential Oil, and 3 drops of Orange Essential Oil to every 4 ounces of base

For a Blissful Scrub

• Start by mixing 1 cup of salt or sugar per 4 tablespoons of carrier oil. Add in 6 drops of Rosemary Essential Oil, 4 drops of Eucalyptus Essential Oil, and 6 drops of Peppermint Essential Oil.
• To the same scrub base, add in 10 drops of Orange Essential Oil, 5 drops of Clove Essential Oil, and 2 drops of Cinnamon Essential Oil.
• To the same scrub base, add in 6 drops of Balsam Fir Essential Oil, 5 drops of Cypress Essential Oil, and 3 drops of Cedarwood Essential Oil.
• To the same scrub base, add in 15 drops of Frankincense Essential Oil, 10 drops of Myrrh Essential Oil, and 10 drops of Orange Essential Oil.
