How You and Biofreeze Can Conquer This Winter

I really don't want to be thinking about this, but Mother Nature decided to bring it to my attention. We had a random snow flurry here in New York over this past weekend. Before we know it, we'll be needing to shovel driveways and walkways, leading to some cranky muscles.

You want to start planting those winter massage seeds once the fall menu excitement starts to slow down. Getting your clients in for massage BEFORE they strain muscles from shoveling or sledding is key to a happier winter season. Make sure your clients are aware of the benefits of massage on their muscles and joints, and how it can help with winter pains (even from the cold weather, I know my old joints are not fans of the cold). Get them in the habit of increasing their sessions during snowy seasons to get them through pain free!

The weather's getting colder, and I'm sure you're in the process of organizing your business for the busier season ahead. International Men's Day 2015

November 19th is International Men's Day, not one of the days that seems to get as much attention.

This is a perfect opportunity for you to pull in more male clients, sell more men's grooming products and set yourself apart from your competition, who may not even be aware this day exists!

Making the day all about the guys can be done in so many ways! Have some guy friendly themes, if you have televisions, put on some games, have "manly" finger foods and essential oils/candles going. Inspirational Saturday: Dad of the YEAR Holds Class to Teach Other Dads How to Do Their Daughter's Hair!

As a mom, I absolutely love to see stories about awesome Dads. Even better is when those awesome Dads really step outside their comfort zone to do something especially fantastic for their daughters, like one dad did.

Philippe Morgese is a single dad to a daughter - a daughter who has hair, and wants to look pretty! He started polishing his little-girl hairstyling skills to step up his daughter's hair game, and started getting compliments and even requests for advice from other Dads. What is a man to do?

Philippe, realizing that he is not alone in his quest for pretty hair (for his daughter, of course!), decided to do an amazing thing - he held a free class in South Daytona, FL for fellow dads called the "Daddy Daughter Hair Factory." He approached a local beauty school, The International Academy in South Daytona about donating space for his free class, and they thought it was a great idea. For his first class, Philippe had 7 Dads and Daughters turn out, and he says they "Did great!" The course covered basic hair brushing, pony tails, braids, and buns. He even sent the dads home with goody bags to continue their hair quest at home!

Philippe saw a need and wanted to fill it. I think this is something amazing he is doing for his community, and is something he should be very proud of! Small businesses need to have the support of their local community in order to succeed, and giving back to the community in a meaningful way helps you not only better yourself as a person, help someone in need, but it goes a long way in showing the community the type of values you built your business on. Aromatherapy for Fall

"Text Neck" A New Trend In Massage

Move over carpel tunnel syndrome, an issue becoming more and more common is text neck. Yes, exactly as it sounds - neck issues stemming from tilting your head down to look at your phone/tablet.

Whether this is an actual medical term or not, text neck is a real problem facing a majority of people. Many clients may not even know the reason for their neck pain, shoulder pain and other issues (headaches are a common complaint!), only that they are in pain.

You can attract a new set of clients or, introduce current clients to new services by simply advertising "Texting Relief" or something much more clever! It gives you an opportunity to educate clients about coming in for massage regularly to alleviate text neck symptoms. Beat The Winter Retail Rush On Heat!

It's barely fall but trust me, once the winter weather rolls around things like heat packs will be flying out of the warehouses. Don't leave your clients out in the cold!
