Rose Oil versus Rose Hip Oil - Whats the Difference?!

Rose products have been popular since the times of the ancient Egyptians, however, they are receiving a special focus this spring. Two derivatives of the flower are a necessity
for your spa services and can play their own key roles.

Rose Essential Oil is derived from the fresh blooming petals of the Rose Plant. What may be surprising to most is that this delicate oil is a true workhorse for aesthetic procedures. It is high in Vitamin C and is an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and astringent making it perfect for use on acne, aging and everything in-between skin. Some say that Rose Essential Oil can be harsh if applied directly to the skin, so be sure to mix it with a carrier oil, lotion or cream before applying it to the skin.

Rose Hip Essential Oil, on the other hand, is derived from the fruit portion of the Rose Plant. Also high in Vitamin C, this essential oil contains:

  • Retinol / Vitamin A - Powerful Anti-Aging Ingredient
  • Linoleic acid / Omega 6 oil
  • Oleic acid / Omega 9 fatty acid
  • Lycopene - Powerful Antioxidant
  • Beta-carotene - Powerful Antioxidant
Unlike Rose Oil, Rose Hip Oil is gentle enough to be applied directly to the skin and has been shown to
improve:

  • Scars
  • Stretch Marks
  • Psoriasis
  • Hyper-pigmentation
  • Fine lines and Wrinkles
  • Acne Scarring
  • Skin Burns
  • Dermititus
  • Chicken Pox Scarring
  • Dry, Brittle Nails
  • Sunburns
  • Windburns
