Kudos to ZOTOS for Winning the EPA 2012 Green Power Leadership Award!

In our environmentally-aware society, companies in every industry are working to address many of the environmental concerns we face today. The EPA, in conjunction with the Center for Resource Solutions, sponsors the Green Power Leadership Awards each year, to recognize the leading actions of organizations that significantly advance the development of green power sources.

Zotos International, Inc., a leading brand in hair care products, has been awarded the 2012 Green Power Leadership Award for their green power efforts. According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency, in 2012, Zotos met its goal of using 100% green power for its 670,000 square foot manufacturing plant, located in Geneva, NY. Using two 1.65 megawatt wind turbines, Zotos generates approximately half of the plant's electricity on-site. Zotos' wind-power initiative is the largest wind project of any manufacturer in the United States.

Along with their wind-power initiative, Zotos is also committed to neutralizing their carbon footprint (making Zotos one of the first manufacturers in the beauty industry to do so), and has rolled out a "Green Packaging Plan," to further increase their initiative in "Going Green." According to, under their Green Packaging Plan, Zotos has released new packaging created from "hybrid bioplastic resin," which is a "composite of post-consumer recycled plastic and thermoplastic starch derived from plants."

Here at Pure Spa Direct, we proudly offer a variety of Zotos products, and you can be proud to offer them in your salon - not only are they high-quality hair-care products, but they are doing something good for our environment!

Along with high-quality Zotos products, Pure Spa Direct also offers a huge selection of supplies for your salon or spa. Many of our products have "Green comments" on them as well, outlining some of the green initiatives the manufacturers have adopted.

Every little bit helps when it comes to the environment! Tell us some of the Green Initiatives your business has adopted!
