Fall Menu Secret Weapon: Clove Essential Oil

We all know that pumpkin and cranberry are the sought after fall scents, flavor and menu items. If you are looking for a little something different to infuse some fall menu, take a look at clove essential oil.

Personally, the smell of clove always has a warm, comfort feeling to it. That little spice in fall foods that adds that something extra.  As an essential oil, it can bring about comforting memories or feelings of warmth, comfort and peace making it an excellent choice to add in to everything from massage oils, aromatherapy showers to pedicures.

It also blends well with citrus scents and not a lot is needed to achieve the full effect!

Scent or No Scent, That Is The Question

Many clients will ask what the most popular scents are at various times during the year. While it is incredibly important to have the right scent(s) to boost business and create a mood, it's also important to remember the power of unscented.

There is a good chunk of people who either are allergic or sensitive to scents, or flat out don't enjoy them for one reason or another. Do you have unscented options for your treatments? Do you have a "scent free" area for clients with severe sensitivities or who may be experiencing migraine symptoms?

Why not ask clients or send out an email poll about it? Get their thoughts on having a scent free section or if there are ever times they would prefer to have an option of scented or unscented. The worst that will happen is they have zero opinion. For those clients who DO have a preference, it will make a huge impression on them by asking....and accommodating their responses.

From massages to nail services, sometimes a simple option can make all the difference!

Now that it's officially summer, your clients are going to walk into the spa looking for refreshing scents and services! Grapefruit is such a lovely revitalizing citrus scent that is the epitome of summer to me, and I'm sure your clients agree. Grapefruit is great for the skin, and has a wide variety of beauty benefits (on top of smelling delicious)! It is loaded with antioxidants and can even help to promote the production of collagen. Limoncello Massage!

Limoncello makes many think about summer or the beach...relaxing at it's best! Why not transfer that into something new for your massage clients?

Lemon Cello Massage Oil may be your new summer menu option! You can have a Limoncello themed package complete with samples of limoncello (if you have a local company who has great limoncello, it's a great chance for referrals between the two companies!), lemon water and the Lemon Cello Massage Oil below!

Lemon Cello Massage Oil is excellent for tired, achy muscles and for calming down frazzled nerves. It's a very light oil that smells so good you'll have to make sure no one tries to drink it!

Lemon Cello Massage Oil
Mix together 2 tablespoons of sunflower oil with 3 drops of lemon essential oil and 1 drop Spanish Marjoram essential oil in an amber bottle. Put the lid on and shake well.

It's as easy as that to create a new unique experience for your clients!

Scentual Sleep - Aromatherapy Time!

Sleep....something most people these days are not getting enough of. Clients coming in for any service, are coming in to also get away from the craziness of their daily routines. I read an article recently on some spas offering sleep themed services to help their client's get even more relaxation out of their visit. Some were even extending hours on certain days, offering services in darker lit rooms. Even for the ones who were offering their sleep services all day long (you never know what clients work schedules may be!) having services designed to enhance sleep is an awesome way to pull new client's in.

Now for the scent part which, is one of the most important things for me when I enter ANY business, especially a spa. For now, we'll focus on scents that will help he overall relaxation experience which in turn, will allow the client to go home and snuggle into bed. Here are some of the top essential oils that your client's will be dreaming of:

Essential Oil Blend - Peaceful Sleep by Now --with chamomile, lavender and sandlewood (plus more!) you cannot go wrong with this blend. It's the warm fuzzy blanket you had as a kid, in a scent.

ESS® Relaxation Oil Blend - I have this in the diffuser in my bedroom right now. It's an interesting blend of earthy and calming scents. If you are looking for a scent that will make your client's ask where to buy it...this is it and you can retail it!

ESS Roman Chamomile Pure Essential Oil - a tried and true favorite for relaxation

Lotus Touch Relaxation Essential Oil Blend

Also, have some eye packs to retail to your clients and for use in services!

Summer Pedicure - Coconut Lime

This is the perfect time to start promoting some summer themed services and specials! When coming up with your ideas for summer services, you'll want make sure your focusing on the scents of the products you are using. There is a big difference between an unscented pedicure service and one that will make them feel like they are on a tropical vacation! Even when you are performing the same exact service, the smell will make all the difference. One scent that I think is great is the Coconut Lime by Keyano products.

Coconut Lime Pedicure:
Items Needed For Treatment: Coconut Lime Fizz Balls, Coconut Lime Scrub, Coconut Lime Massage Oil, Coconut Lime Glycolic Mask, Coconut Lime Butter Cream.

Recommended Home Care: Coconut Lime Hand and Body Lotion, Coconut Lime Scrub, Coconut Lime Butter Cream.
