Benefits of a Himalayan Salt Lamp

Did you know all the benefits of a Natural Salt Lamp? The negative salt ions released by heating can boost blood flow, improve sleep, increase levels of serotonin in the brain, and calm allergy or asthma symptoms. Besides these homeopathic perks, there's an added relaxation element. And what client doesn't want to be uber relaxed at a spa!?

By putting one in your treatment room, not only will the clients reap the benefits, but your staff too!

Check out this classic Natural Salt Lamp

One-of-a-kind and absolutely beautiful, these natural salt lamps are hand-shaped from select chunks of the finest, most potent salt crystal in the world. However, these attractive lamps provide more than ambient, soothing light. Some users may experience homeopathic health benefits from using them --the most immediate and dramatic being for those suffering from respiratory allergies and/or asthma.

Note: Due to their natural and unique quality, each lamp will vary somewhat in both color and exact form. Coloring ranges from soothing apricot and peach to deep and fiery red and orange.

Rebalance Your Clients with the Complete Shirodhara Kit

Ayurvedic spas are becoming increasingly popular. Want to try a new service to bring in an entirely new clientele? Or even surprise your existing clients with an exciting new service?

Ayurvedic practice is considered a medicine that treats mind, body, soul and the universe as one being. Its belief holds that all things, including people, are composed of the five elements of water, fire, earth, air and space. If the balance of these five elements becomes disrupted within a person, illness occurs. Rebalance is possible through Ayurvedic practices to restore the five elements and regain health and happiness.

Interested yet? Take a look at the Copper Complete Shirodhara Kit / Manual

This is the traditional system for giving a shirodhara. Fully hands on, the flow of oil comes from the copper pot, onto the person's third eye, down the hair and vinyl strip, and into the warming pan, where the flow continues with the shirodhara therapist re-pouring the warmed oil back into the copper vessel. While this method requires skill and an ability to quiet one's own mind, it is the most energetically positive way to give a shirodhara treatment.

System includes:

  • Copper Shirodhara Stand
  • Copper Shirodhara pot w/control valve
  • 2 Copper Pouring Pitchers
  • Electric Solid Element Burner
  • Vinyl Strip for directing the oil back to the pitcher (not shown)
  • Shirodhara Manual with the history, benefits, and various methods of the treatment.
Want to know a little more?

To understand Ayurveda, one must first know that its foundation lies in the three forces: Creation, Change, and Destruction (sattva, rajas, and tamas in Sanskrit.) These three forces are called gunas. One guna cannot be without the others, everything that exists goes through these stages. When the gunas interact with one another, the result is the five elements: Ether (space), Air, Fire, Water, and Earth. Everything we see, touch, think, and experience has some combination of these elements within. Each element carries specific attributes that make it unique. In life, none of the five elements ever exists alone as each successive element is born from the one before it. Think of Ether as the vastness of the cosmos. This space is the home for all objects in the universe, namely energy. When sattva, rajas, and tamas take a hold of this universal energy in space, the result is air, the first state of matter. When air shifts through the three stages, it starts to move around, causing friction. This action produces heat and light and fire is born. As this pattern continues, fire liquefies matter and a new cycle starts as water comes forth. As the water goes through its stage of destruction, it evaporates, and earth solidifies from what is left behind. Then the process starts over again, and it is happening all around us all the time.

Get ahead of the trend, and try it!

Float Away Into Ultimate Relaxation

What if you could bring peace and relaxation to your clients like they have never experienced before? Now you can with floatation therapy. Imagine where the mind could go and how healing would come if one could completely quiet the body. In a Royal Spa Float Tank, clients are treated to an amazing weightless experience. Clients can learn how to relax in the deepest sense of the word... weightless, silent, and peaceful.

In water temperatures that match the body's own internal temperature, clients float, suspended in a rich bath of Epsom salt (or magnesium sulfate) - a mineral of which nearly all people are deficient. As they float, clients absorb and increase magnesium and sulfate levels, calming their nervous system and enhancing their body's natural ability to heal. Aches, pains, and stress fade away. Vitality is renewed. Clients will emerge feeling like a new person. Floating is a powerful tool for managing pain and stress, and for self-exploration.

The Royal Spa Float Tanks have been designed with three things in mind. First, they offer your clients an amazing experience from floatation therapy that they will want to come back for on a regular basis. Second, their tanks are unbelievably low in maintenance. And third, they are very energy efficient.

Flotation therapy has been shown to be beneficial for:
  • Migraine relief
  • Sleep improvement
  • Stress management, recovery from addiction, and PTSD
  • Anti-inflammatory muscle relief - i.e. pain management, including back and neck aches, migraines, muscle and joint soreness
  • Relief from fibromyalgia and other disorders of the muscles and joints
  • Relief from arthritis
  • Improved digestion
  • Reduced tendency toward diabetes
  • Autism therapy
  • Spiritual discovery and meditation
  • Doubles rate of healing in contusional and muscle strains
  • Theta wave healing
  • Creativity enhancement and super-learning
  • Relief for pregnancy symptoms—relieves pressure from feet and back; also, creates symbiotic sense of connection with baby
Much like exercise, the benefits of floatation are cumulative and have a greater impact on the mind and body over time. Once the benefits are experienced, many want to float routinely to continually enhance and support their well-being. You can offer reduced package prices to help accommodate your guests who want float more often.

Back To School Stress!

Now that most, if not all schools have started back up, some parents have a little extra free time during the day, or are back to regular work schedules. Those back to regular schedules can start to feel like they are running all over the place.

The before school morning rush getting the kid(s) up and out the door while attempting to get themselves ready for work can be similar to a circus. The commute to work during the school year seems to take twice as long - hullo stress! After work many parents are off to practice, games, and other various after school programs - don't forget play dates! Throw in the usual every day things like cleaning, cooking, helping with homework and a variety of other tasks - many parents are always on the "go, go, GO" time schedule.

Have you thought about marketing specifically to those types of clients? Have a back to school special for parents! You can have set days/times to offer super relaxing treatments - with no kids allowed! Heck, even have a quiet room where guests can relax in comfy chairs (like the Loafah Chaise + Spa-Massage Treatment Table) with dim lighting (led candles!), soft music and relaxing teas or cucumber water (the Vitajuwel Decanter Set is the way to go!)to just enjoy some uninterrupted quiet time. Sometimes that is all a parent needs to recharge for the day, week, month!

Not sure where to start? Take a look at some all time favorites among our clients to really push relaxation to the next level:

Curved Japanese Bamboo Lounge Chair
Reclining Reflexology Chair
Breath Lounge Relaxation Lounge
Aqua Thermassage Tables
Vitajuwel - these are a great unique addition to your decor and make an excellent retail item!
Ultimate ZZZZs Silk Sleep Mask - I have this, it's amazing!

Since many parents may not have all that much time to spare, having a room or area where they don't need to change or spend an hour or day to relax will make it that much more appealing!

Music To Your Ears - New Spa Music!

Are you getting tired of hearing the same music day to day, week to week regardless of how many times you rotate your collection? Have you checked in with your clients lately to get their thoughts on the music?

Personally, I get tired of hearing the same music over and over. I would change my cd's almost obsessively. I also didn't want my clients who were coming in a few times a week or weekly to get bored with it either.

Here are the newest additions that may just breathe new life not only to your music collection, but to the overall vibe in the area!

Music To Your Ears!

Are you or your employees getting tired of the music in your business or treatment rooms? If so, chances are your client's may be as well, especially your regulars!

While the music may be amazing and relaxing, clients may grow tired of it. I used to receive massages weekly, and for three months, they had the same cd playing. I knew it inside and out - how each song started and what was coming next. Some clients may not notice but for the ones who do, it can be a bit annoying.

Here are some recently added music selections we just added to keep your music collection fresh and new! Your clients and your employees will appreciate new tunes! As a bonus, you can also retail these to your clients!

Scentual Sleep - Aromatherapy Time!

Sleep....something most people these days are not getting enough of. Clients coming in for any service, are coming in to also get away from the craziness of their daily routines. I read an article recently on some spas offering sleep themed services to help their client's get even more relaxation out of their visit. Some were even extending hours on certain days, offering services in darker lit rooms. Even for the ones who were offering their sleep services all day long (you never know what clients work schedules may be!) having services designed to enhance sleep is an awesome way to pull new client's in.

Now for the scent part which, is one of the most important things for me when I enter ANY business, especially a spa. For now, we'll focus on scents that will help he overall relaxation experience which in turn, will allow the client to go home and snuggle into bed. Here are some of the top essential oils that your client's will be dreaming of:

Essential Oil Blend - Peaceful Sleep by Now --with chamomile, lavender and sandlewood (plus more!) you cannot go wrong with this blend. It's the warm fuzzy blanket you had as a kid, in a scent.

ESS® Relaxation Oil Blend - I have this in the diffuser in my bedroom right now. It's an interesting blend of earthy and calming scents. If you are looking for a scent that will make your client's ask where to buy it...this is it and you can retail it!
