Essential Oil: Spolight on Organic Lavender

The popularity of essential oils is on the rise. Most estheticians and massage therapists have incorporated them into their treatments. Retailing them is simple, and an extra perk for your clients.

Today I want to tell you a little bit about Lavender Essential Oil, specifically
ESS® Organic Lavender High Altitude

Lavender grows at 600-1200 m altitude. The best plants, grown at 1200 m, are used to produce this exceptionally fine, high-quality Lavender. The plants for this oil are grown in the Italian Alps, near the French border. Unlike many other lavenders that have a "boiled" odor, it has a wonderfully fresh aroma, reminiscent of lavender growing wild or in gardens. Lavender is the most widely used essential oil in aromatherapy, particularly for its relaxing properties. 10 ml.

This oil has been certified as organic by the Soil Association, which means you can trace every single ingredient back to the farm where it was organically grown. Each oil is unique and fully certified to give you the highest quality possible.

Ingredients:
This is a natural Essential Oil produced by steam distillation of the bio-mass of Lavender flowers and consists of Terpenes, Terpene alcohols, and Esters - principally Linalyl Acetate.

Of all of the essential oils out there, there is one that stands out from the rest in regards to versatility: Lavender.

I know many of us automatically associate lavender with calming, relaxing, and aiding in sleep, but lavender is really a wonderful plant, which creates a truly amazing essential oil, that can be incorporated into so many treatments in your day spa.

As we have discussed before, scents and smells really round out any spa experience, and lavender is such a comforting, relaxing scent to so many people. If someone new to the industry asked me what the #1 essential oil they should have available, my response would unequivocally would be lavender. However, did you know that it does so much more than relaxes?

Lavender Properties:

  • Anti-Bacterial
  • Anti-Inflammatory
  • Wound-Healing
  • Rejuvenating aging skin
  • Analgesic
  • Regulating / Calming

  • And more!
Uses in Your Spa:
  • Incorporate lavender into your scalp massages to alleviate sinus pressure and headaches

Achieve the Impossible: Mix Oil and Water with Water-Soluble Essential Oils!

A really great way to take hot towel treatments to the next level would be to add a few drops of essential oil to each towel. Whenever people inquire about towels, or even hot towel cabis, we always recommend that they consider purchasing a bottle of Lavender or Eucalyptus essential oil to help add a stimulating or relaxing effect to the towels.

However, a client of ours recently brought up that her towels were not maintaining the fragrance she wanted for her clients. Instead of absorbing into the towels, essential oils actually sit on top of the water and roll off. The solution? Water-soluble Essential Oil!

Oil and water naturally repel each other and are next to impossible to mix, but water-soluble essential oil is different. It has been specially formulated to mix with water and, therefore, absorbs into your hot (or cold) towels, resulting in an easy yet luxurious treatment for every client! These essential oils are also not just for your towels, either! You can use them with:
  • Facial Steamers
  • Pedicure Baths
  • Hydrocollators
  • Steam Rooms
  • Hydrotherapy Treatments
What scents would you like to use with these treatments?
