Nail Trends: The New Galaxy Nails? - Lightning Nails!

Recently, we were all so fascinated with the Galaxy Nails trend, and then I came across another similar trend that was so cool! They are Lightning Nails. The idea is to portray the image of bolts of lightning on a stormy night right onto your nails.

The process seems fairly simple. You start off with a dark or black polish, then sponge on accent colors like purple, blue, and white. To paint on the bolts, you'll want to use a very thin nail design brush or dotting tool.

The finished look definitely looks very interesting and fun!

Here are some useful products for Lightning Nails:
Nail Art Striper Brush (566)
China Glaze Nail Polish - Stella / 0.5 oz. by China Glaze
China Glaze Nail Lacquer 0.5 oz. Tantalize Me #70624 - Shimmer
China Glaze - Grade Pop / 0.5 oz. by China Glaze (240930)
China Glaze Nail Polish - First Mate - 0.5 oz. / 14.79 mL. (240967)
China Glaze Cirque Du Soleil - Worlds Away Collection Hanging In The Balance / 0.5 oz.
Art Club Nail Art / White / Pack of 6 (05C001)

Galaxy Nails - Awesome New Nail Trends 2013

I am almost 41 years old... but I am OBSESSED with funky nail art and trends. My husband thinks I am having a mid life crisis and the Hoity-Toity nail spa I go to on Long Island thinks I'm nuts.  Every time I ask for "ombre nails" or "galaxy nails" they tell me, "We don't do that  here - go to Queens!" - HA!

So last week I slipped my nail girl a $20 and asked her to watch this YouTube video and learn the "Galaxy nail technique" so that next time I come in she can give me me the galaxy manicure of my dreams!

Salons, don't discriminate! I shouldn't have to bribe a nail tech to learn a new technique.  Learning these new trends is a great way to expand your revenue and client base.

To see the latest variations and techniques on this trend just Google image "galaxy nails"... it's impressive how creative people are!

Pros; Here is a list of the supplies / nail colors needed for the galaxy nail art technique:
Cosmetic Sponge
Dark Blue Metalic Polish
Sea Spray Polish
Pink Polish
Essie Carnival
Techo Glitter - China Glaze
