Are Your Clients Bored? Check Out Some Ideas to Keep 'Em Coming!

Even with seasonal menu changes, clients can become used to your menu options which can lead to boredom - which can lead to them checking out what your competition is offering.

Are you offering things like "treatment of the day/month"? This is a great way to get clients to try new services, even at a discounted rate. You can introduce them to the next level of service, improve their results and increase their loyalty to you. Be sure to pick something from different categories each month to expand what your clients are coming in for. Things like microcurrent, high frequency, and body wraps are always great. Even offering an add on off the month like Eco-Fin or a collagen neck treatment can be successful for clients who have been on the fence about trying something new.

Do you have staff picks displayed in your retail section? Clients like to see what the professionals recommend and use themselves. This is a great way to boost retail sales and again, introduce new products and services to clients. As you've probably seen, once you get your clients talking they are more open to suggestions.

I've seen great success in companies that offer a monthly "how to" class. Whether it be proper techniques to use at home or on how to pick products for their skin type. Be sure to have products ready to demo, samples, sample jars and for purchase.

Sponges On Sticks....A Surprising Must Have!

Sponges on sticks - sounds a bit odd, right? You may be asking yourself why you would need/want a sponge on a stick. How will a sponge on a stick benefit my clients?  Basically, because they are awesome!

Have you ever attempted to put lotion in between your shoulder blades? How about scrubs or body tanner? It can be a challenge for many people to reach certain areas, for some it may be downright impossible. A sponge on a stick can make all the difference for those clients! Rather than them not use products or not use them properly because they can't reach or evenly apply product - sell or give them a sponge on a stick! You can give them out to clients, retail them alone or bundled with your favorite tanner, lotion or scrub!

Small Business Saturday---Don't Miss Out On Getting Yourself Recognized!

Every radio and television station is filled with adds for Black Friday and Cyber Monday which are almost upon us. Still rather new, in it's fourth year, is Small Business Saturday. Many folks think of their local mom and pop retail stores but it is also an excellent opportunity to draw in new client, new awareness in your area and to create some excitement in your business in general.

I've spoken to a few people in the industry who are starting to think of ways to capitalize on this new shopping holiday. If you've never thought about how you can benefit from Small Business Saturday, or are looking for a jumping off point...here are some ideas.

Many local newspapers offer free advertising, which is always an easy way to get the word out. A simple ad showcasing your business and even offering a new client discount is a free way of getting someone in the door.

Window banners and/or signs out front are a great way to catch street traffic. I would have a banner in the window near the holidays that said Massage $49.95 in GIANT letters. This was enough to get people in the door out of curiosity. This enabled me to show the potential client everything we offered aside from the massage special.

In the spa/salon advertise a Small Business Saturday special or event. You can host raffles, giveaways, special packages for existing and new clients. You can make it as big or small of an event as you like.

If you have the resources, grab some air time on a local radio station or local television channel.

Offer your existing clients a special deal where if they bring a friend in on Small Business Saturday they each get a complimentary add on or gift; whatever is best for you.

Set up a special holiday retail section in your business. If you feel like offering a one day sale or promotion even better! Here are some great gift options:
