Product Of The Week: Alaskan Glacial Mud

Happy Friday!

This week, I'd like to spotlight Raw Alaska Glacial Mineral Mud.

Mud is always in style in this industry, from facials masks to body wraps. As a massage therapist, after a few years in I decided to give offering various mud add-ons a shot. As a mobile therapist at the time, I thought I was nuts for just the thought of mobile mud! I was able to make it work for me, and my client response surprised the heck out of me! All of them wanted to try it. After the trial run, some alternated their massages with mud treatments.

Mud works.

Alaska Glacial mud works. Containing more than 60 nourishing major and trace elements to promote healthy skin cell regeneration, you may find clients requesting mud packages.

Your Clients Are On The Go - Sell Them Things to Help!

People are always on the go these days. From family vacation to business trips, airports are rarely empty.

When a client mentions they are getting ready to leave, are currently travelling or just got back from travelling - you have a perfect transition to retail.

If they're getting ready to leave, how are they taking care of their skin while away?
If they're currently travelling, what are they using now as their go to travel plan?
If they just got back, what did they use and were they happy with the results?

Three easy approaches to offer some travel kits, along with some fun options. You can educate them on the importance of keeping up with their routines while away and help them find the best products for their skin concerns. They will be appreciative of your care, which will lead into increased retail sales.

You can opt to go with kits packaged by the manufacturers, make your own kits ahead of time to match your business, or have something like a "choose your own kit". For that kit, pick however many items you select for the from for the client to fill a travel cosmetic bag. You can even tier it with a small, medium and large bag, whatever works best for you!

Massage Menu In Need Of A Boost?

Looking for something different to add to your massage offerings? How about a simple "homemade" oil to have your clients relaxed and visualizing lounging on a tropical island?

Here is a super simple recipe that is cost effective for you and can be sold as an upcharge to any massage!


In an amber bottle, mix 1/4 cup of avocado oil with 6 drops of vitamin e oil, 2 drops of lime essential oil and 2 drops of lemon essential oil.  Put the cap on the bottle and shake well to ensure everything mixes.


It's as easy as that!


This oil is great for any client with dry, dull skin or dehydrated skin. Vitamin E has been used in many anti-inflammatory treatments and great for stretch marks!


Just a few ingredients can bring new life (and profit) easily to your business!

Client Loyalty- A Vital Key To Success!

How are you showing your repeat clients that you appreciate them choosing to give their hard earned money, to you? The staff members saying "thank you" and "have a nice day", while sincere, are expected as a common courtesy in business. What are you doing to thank them for coming back to see you, and not to your competition? What is your competition doing that keeps their clients from coming to see you? Are your clients feeling bored or like just another dollar sign? Those feelings are what lead your clients to go "try something new" - your competition...with the potential of not coming back.

If you're not sure, concerned or want to simply start going above and beyond what your clients expect, May 1st is the day for you to start! May 1st is National Loyalty Day, while not one of the major holidays in the world, it's a great opportunity to shine.

You can make a big event out of it, complete with food and drinks, music, raffles, giveaways (think grand opening!), treatment demos and product samples. You can choose to have a special service at a discounted rate, or even a special menu (awesome opportunity to test out anything you've been wanting to bring on but weren't sure how it would sell) for just your VIP clients if you have tiers. The ways to work this are limited only by what you want the outcome to be!

Never miss and opportunity to wow your clients and show them you appreciate them. If you don't, your competition will!

Pedi Bowl Too Heavy?

This may seem like an odd thing to be excited over but, I'm super excited for the PediBowl Dolly by Touch America!

I speak with a good amount of clients who need to be able to move their pedicure bowls quickly and easily. Whether it's due to the weight or distance they need to move it or due to physical limitations, lifting a full pedicure bowl can be a challenge.
