Its The Little Things ...

Sometimes we forget about the small, day-to-day items that get us through our everyday hustle. Recently, a client called in a panic looking for Starpil Wax Beads. She had recently run out, and her currently supplier was out of stock as well. She had multiple clients booked for the up-coming holiday weekend, and needed her wax ASAP! Luckily, here at Pure Spa Direct, we were able to ship the wax she needed for delivery the next day - just in time for her to service her prickly guests!

Being able to take a situation like this - and come through for her - reminds me everyday of how important excellent customer service is, and how we here at Pure Spa Direct make sure to take care of our clients individual needs. Weather it be a rush wax order, 4x4's, disposables, etc.. We are here to make sure your daily operations run smooth!

International Men's Day 2015

November 19th is International Men's Day, not one of the days that seems to get as much attention.

This is a perfect opportunity for you to pull in more male clients, sell more men's grooming products and set yourself apart from your competition, who may not even be aware this day exists!

Making the day all about the guys can be done in so many ways! Have some guy friendly themes, if you have televisions, put on some games, have "manly" finger foods and essential oils/candles going. Many guys still can feel uncomfortable going in for services which is why having a day where they know they're not going to be "the only guy" , can be the only chance you get for some of them.

Of course you want to feature the services you offer that they can benefit from aside from manicures and massages. Coffee infused body treatments, "grooming for success" packages that include cuts, facials, manicures and shaves are a great idea! Use this as a chance to educate guys on how easy a skin care routine can be. Have quality retail items on hand, demo them too - once they see how simple it can be, and how much the women in their life will appreciate it, they'll be hooked!

Be sure to have samples available as well. There may be some guys who won't outwardly admit they want to try something, but if you pass out samples, you have a good chance of them taking the time to try it!

World Massage Festival 2013

The time is quickly approaching for the World Massage Festival held August 4-7th in Long Beach California aboard the Queen Mary!

This is a great event to gather and meet other therapists from around the world and participate in discussions as well as classes. They offer so many classes you can actually earn up to 24 CEU's during this festival! Classes range from business education to hands on modalities, so there is something for everyone.

Tis the Season To Grow Your Clientele!!!

With the holidays coming up people are going to be looking for that perfect gift for family and friends. This can be an excellent time to push gift certificate sales and gain new clients. There are various ways to do this to fit the type of office and services you offer.

One great way to say thank you to existing clients who purchase gift certificates is to offer them a gift as well. Many salons, spas and massage therapy offices have found giving a gift bag with products they retail is a great way to boost sales while making the client feel appreciated.

Add New Customers with Positive Local Search Reviews - Contests Can Help You!

I had my hair cut at my usual salon a few days ago and chatted with the owner while he cut my hair.  He was telling me about a contest they were having that offered a year of free haircuts as the prize.  He sparked my interest.  He went on to tell me the details... it was simple... for every positive review a client leaves for the salon on an internet review site, they would add one entry into the fish bowl for the drawing.  They had a form to bring back to let the salon know the sites you left reviews on and the display name you used for that site. Kind of a pain in the butt to do, but for a year's free hair cuts, sure, why not!

Simple enough and he said after just one week in to the contest, the results were already impressive.  They had already generated a number of new positive reviews from their customers! If you were not aware, 5 Star reviews on sites like Yelp are gold for any business.  The cost of 12 free hair cuts is nominal compared to the value of the boat load of positive reviews the contest will generate.

Even though the contest is offering the possibility of a reward for a good reviews, the salon is not asking anyone to make anything up or lie... so as far as I can see, it is moral, ethical, fun and a great idea! Remember, the more positive reviews you have, the less a negative review will hurt your review average!
