Wrap It Up with Parafango

If you're interested in new services for your summer menu, look into Parafango! This service offers mind-blowing results that leave the body firm and tight. Who doesn't want results like that, especially in the summer?

What is Parafango?
Parafango is a mixture of Sea Mud and Paraffin. The Sea Mud is rich in minerals and causes pore dilation and perspiration with a calming and analgesic effect. It helps eliminate toxins with an in-depth purification. Its great power of heat retention stimulates the blood circulation and revitalizes the skin. The Paraffin optimizes the penetration of the active ingredients used for deep, long-lasting effects. The paraffin helps the product sustain a gradually released fusing heat and can retain application temperature for up to an hour and a half. The Parafango stimulates the lymphatic flow on our body to draw out toxins from around the fat cells. The wrapping technique compresses the skin and compacts the soft fatty tissue making it more firm and tight.

Check out our Parafango Kit, containing everything you need to get started!
The deluxe kit allows you to deliver 5 additional treatments...a total of 10 treatments.

Kit Includes:

Goodbye Dull Dry Skin, Hello Beach Ready Glow!

Everyone is rushing to their spas/wellness centers to get rid of their dull, dry winter skin. The rush on hydrating and brightening products are in full swing!  Here is an awesome menu idea to freshen up your Spring body treatments! This body wrap will help smooth, exfoliate and hydrate the skin while the relaxing their cares away!

Spring Hydrating Body Wrap (I'm sure you're more creative at treatments names that will fit in with your regular menu!)

You may wish to prepare this before the client comes in to maximize time.

Prep:

Body Wrap:

Combine 4T of Sedona Mud Powder, 1T of Egg White Powder and 2t of Clove Powder  in a large rubber mixing bowl.  Add in 6T of water and stir until a paste like consistency.

Add in 15 drops of Sweet Orange Pure Essential Oil  (if you have a client who does not like orange scents or for male clients, try using 5-10 drops spearmint or 5-7 drops cedarwood essential oil instead). Mix in 3T of Organic Corn Meal and mix well (the cornmeal may soak up the liquid once it sits, you can add more water if it is too dry. If the mix becomes to wet, you can add in more of the Sedona Mud Powder).

Place the bowl in a mud warmer, hot towel cabinet or even in a stainless steel bowl filled with hot water to warm the mixture is warm and feels luxurious when applied.

Moisturizer:

In a medium rubber mixing bowl, mix 2T of Whipped Shea Butter with 5 drops Sweet Orange Pure Essential Oil (again you can substitute 5-10 drops spearmint or 5-7 drops cedarwood essential oil)

Dry brushing the client prior to the body wrap is an excellent way to start if you don't already begin that way. Once you have prepped as you normally do for wraps, check the temperature of the warmed mixture to be sure it is at a comfortable temperature before applying. Apply the mask as usual, being sure to pay extra attention to extra dry areas, especially feet, heels, knees and elbows. Once the mask has been applied, wrap the client in plastic sheeting followed by a thermal blanket. Leave on for approximately 15-20 minutes ---now is a great time for add on services like scalp massage! Remove the mask as you normally do and follow with the moisturizer!

Wrapping The Best Gift Of All----SKIN!!!!

Body Wraps are amazing...to me that's a fact not an opinion. What is not to like? It starts with your skin being exfoliated...I don't know anyone who doesn't like exfoliation. All the dead skin cells get taken away leaving the skin already softer than before and prepared for the wrap.My all time favorite scrub is the Desert Mineral Detox Body Scrub - Anti-Cellulite Formula / 10 oz. by Extended Vacation. This is also the favorite at the Ritz Carlton flagship spa and The Red Door!

One of the nicest things after exfoliating is using a nourishing oil such as Pure Sea Buckthorn Oil - Organic or Pure Olive Squalane Oil / 2 oz. by LIFE FLO.  These oils are non greasy and extremely hydrating; they will enhance the effect and feel of the treatment.

The method you use for wrapping is obviously whatever method you are comfortable with. Here are some great body wrap products you may want to add into your service menu:

If you're looking to just get started offering body wraps, try one of these kits:

Suggestions and Ideas for Winter Body Wraps!

Now that we have officially entered the skin-ravaging days of winter, it is the perfect time to offer body wraps designed to moisturize and hydrate your clients' dry and cracking skin.

The question many of our clients ask, however, is 'Where do I start?'  Whether you want to use a pre-made mask, or create your own, there are tons of different products you can use to treat your clients.  Here are a few Ingredient Suggestions:
  1. Wheatgerm Carrier Oil - This thick, sticky liquid is packed with vitamin E and helps relieve dryness, itching, cracks and soreness.  You will need approximately 1/4 cup of oil, but be sure to dilute it first!
  2. Milk Powders - Whether it is Goats MilkFull Cream Milk or Buttermilk, all of these powders contain alpha-hydroxy acids that soften the skin and vitamins A, C, B1, B6, B12, & E to help nourish the skin and neutralize free radicals.
  3. Soy Powder - This super ingredient contains amino acids and proteins that helps to boost the skin's moisture and collagen levels.
  4. Coconut Butter - This product melts at body temperature and has been shown to lubricate the skin while lowering  the evaporative loss of water.
  5. Oatmeal Powder - Oatmeal is a standard go-to for dry and itchy skin, but why?  The high concentration of salicylic acid makes this extremely effective as a remedy to help reduce itch and irritation asscociated with sensitve skin, rashes, eczema and psoriasis.

Prefer to have your masks pre-made?  Amber Products has an excellent line of body masques that contain the hydrating and skin-reviving properties necessary for Winter Body Wraps:

Amber Chamomile and Marine Algae Masque:
