Say Goodbye To Dry Winter Skin Before Spring!

It's the perfect time of the year to start planning, and preparing your Spring menu. Here is a great exfoliating and hydrating "recipe" to get your creative juices flowing!

Spring Fling Body Wrap
***gentle exfoliating treatment that also soothes, nourishes and protects the skin***

You will be using two different mud mixtures to swirl on the clients skin!

Prep:

In a large rubber mixing bowl, combine 1/2 cup Sedona Mud, 1 tablespoon whipped shea butter, 1 drop ginger essential oil and 1/2 tablespoon of honey powder, and mix well.

In another larger rubber mixing bowl, mix 1/2 cup Moor Mud, 1 tablespoon whipped shea butter and 1 drop ginger essential oil, and mix well.

Place both bowls in a mud warmer, large stainless steel bowl filled with hot water, or a hot towel cabinet so the mixtures will be warm when applied.

Treatment:

Remove the bowls from the warmer - mud should be around 110-120 degrees. Using a body mask brush, apply the sedona mud mixture in a swirl pattern on the back, back of the arms and legs. Apply the moor mud mixture in a swirl pattern in the spaces between the sedona mud stripes. Have the client flip over, and repeat the process until the entire body is covered with the mud stripes.

Wrap the client in plastic wrap and a thermal blanket, and allow them to relax for 15-20 minutes. Now is a great time for an add on service like a scalp massage or Eco-Fin!

Remove the blanket, open the plastic sheet, and sprinkle the stomach with 1/4 teaspoon of ground pumice. Using about 1-2 tablespoons of coconut oil, gently massage the stomach and mud streaked arms/legs one at a time. Have the client flip over again, and repeat the pumice and coconut oil massage. If you have a vichy shower, drench the client with warm water for 10 minutes. Have them turn over one more time and repeat the shower process. If you do not have a vichy shower, have them shower or use warm moist towels to remove the mud.

Be sure to retail sunscreen such as Burnout to your clients to help protect their glowing, hydrated skin!

Rejuvenation, Naturally: Full Body Spa Therapies

As our body's largest organ, the skin plays a critical role to health, aging, looks. So many clients focus their time and energy on keeping the skin on their faces healthy, revitalized, and rejuvenated...but what about the skin on their body? Body skin ages at essentially the same rate as the skin on the face. Why not focus some of your clients' attention on rejuvenating this skin as well?

Natural Body Therapies are not only good for the skin, but they are excellent for relaxation and mindful wellness, as well.

Body Brush Exfoliation
Dry skin brushing is a great way to exfoliate, improve circulation, combat cellulite, and more. Dry brushing is a great treatment to offer when the seasons are transitioning, since the skin is sensitive to environmental changes. Dry brushing is performed with your choice of a number of tools: loofahs, sisal, "paint" brushes, body brushes, exfoliating gloves, and more.
  • Exfoliates dead skin cells
  • Improves circulation by stimulating top layers of skin
  • Helps boost immune system
  • Aids in lymphatic drainage
  • Excellent anti-cellulite treatment
  • Helps rid the body of toxins
  • Can help even muscle tone and redistribute fat deposits
Salt Scrub Exfoliation
Exfoliating with a salt scrub stimulates the skin, cleanses the pores, and improves the texture of dull, tired skin. Salt also has antiseptic properties, so a good scrub may kill and remove infection-causing bacteria from the surface of the skin.
  • Exfoliates dead skin cells
  • Improves circulation by stimulating top layers of skin
  • Excellent anti-cellulite treatment
  • Helps rid the body of toxins
  • Promotes healthy cell regeneration
  • Nourishes the skin
  • Promotes relaxation
Herbal Wraps
Using a natural, herbal solution in combination with compression wraps is a concept that has been around for thousands of years. Body wraps are often used for Moisturizing, Detoxifying, Slimming, or Cellulite Reduction.
  • Hydrates and nourishes the skin
  • Draws toxins and impurities from the body
  • Improves circulation and can reduce pain and inflammation
  • Exfoliates and tones skin
  • Improves elasticity and healthy skin cell regeneration
