It's Not Just Slime! The Beauty Benefits of Algae

Algae is commonly seen as that annoying, gross slime that we try to remove from our pools each year. However, did you know that tons of beauty products are actually loaded with it ? But waiiit!.. before you go running to your spa pantry to impulsively throw away all of your products, let's take a look at the benefits this seemingly gross sludge actually has to offer! According to an article I read on it, there are plenty. Since beach season is on the horizon, you might want to consider adding an algae face mask treatment to your spa! It's a great seasonal treatment your clients will love.

What are the beautifying benefits of algae? Check them out below!

Anti-aging
Due to its high protein and fatty acid content, algae can help boost collagen production which keeps the skin elastic and firm - all characteristics of youth, which can help in anti-aging. We have a great Seaweed Algae Peel Off Mask by Pour Elle Labs which can be an effective product to use during an algae facial treatment at your spa.

Hydrating

Because algae is a plant and water-based by nature, its components can help to moisturize and even purify the skin. This can also reduce the appearance of fine lines an wrinkles because of its strong hydrating properties.

Anti-bacterial

Research has found that blue-green algae has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, which makes it effective in treating your clients who are prone to acne, eczema, and even psoriasis! To get started on your algae facial treatments, you might want to consider purchasing our Warm Clay and Algae Masque Kit by Amber!

Convinced that this sea plant is more than just annoying green pool stuff?! Click here to see all of our algae products to get your spa prepared for a beautifying deep sea treatment just in time for summer :)

Beauty's Very Own Liquid Gold - Argan Oil

Argan Oil has been gaining popularity in the last few years for it's beautifying and healing properties! It's called liquid gold, and for good reason - it offers a variety of beauty benefits and on top of smelling and feeling wonderful, your clients will most likely become addicted to it.

See below for some of this golden elixir's 5 main beautifying benefits, alongside our favorite products here at Pure Spa that your customers will absolutely love!...

1) Healthy, Glowing Skin
Due to the antioxidants within this oil, and its unique ability to moisturize without being too oily, Moroccan oil will definitely give you that healthy glow your clients are always looking for. Just a few drops is all it takes to make your customers' skin look radiant and glowing.

Our Argan Oil Ultra Hydrating Body Lotion by Body Drench will leave your customer's skin feeling smooth and hydrated all day!

2) Anti-Aging
Because of its high fatty acid and vitamin E content, Moroccan oil is sure to give aging skin a healthy boost. The natural properties within it alone can help maintain the skin's elasticity.

3) Healthy, Shinier Hair
Has the winter put a damper on your customer's hair and left it dull and lifeless? Or perhaps your boutique is located in a warmer climate year round, and the sun is damaging to your clients' tresses. Either way, this oil is not just for moisturizing skin, but it can also be put in the hair as well! Just a few drops is all you need to revive your customers who have dry and damaged hair. Since it's all natural, it also works great for your color-treated clients!

This Argan Oil Leave-In Treatment is perfect for replenishing dry and damaged hair.

4) Nails
Aside from your customer's skin and nails, this oil can also harden up and moisturize and dry, brittle nails. It is perfect to have in a spa setting, and you might want to reconsider having some in the manicure/pedicure area as well! Try massaging a few drops of oil into your customer's nails cuticle for moisturizing and to facilitate cuticle removal as well!

5) Anti-Inflammatory for all skin types
If your customer is suffering from sensitive skin after a wax treatment, you might want to consider retailing this product to them shortly after. This oil can be soothing and healing for those who suffer from ingrown hairs, razor burn, or even eczema and acne! Due to it's ant-inflammatory properties thanks to its nutrient-dense composition, Moroccan oil is a safe and natural alternative to those harsher chemically derived products on the market.

Keep a bottle of this Certified Organic Pure Argan Oil in your spa near your manicure area for quick use, or retail these bottles to your customers!

Micro Needling---Not As Scary As It Looks

When I first saw the Micro Needle Roller Therapy System, I must admit my first thought was, "ouch". Literally tiny needles on a roller with a handle for someone to roll across my face? Sounds like an ancient form of punishment.

Luckily for me, and other clients, it's not scary at all. In fact, this little thing is pretty awesome.

Here's how it works in a very small nutshell:
-The steel micro-points release toxins from the skin, triggers collagen production, and also helps products penetrate into the skin further resulting in greater effectiveness.

Here are just a few of the issues it helps with:
  •  Scars (of all colors)
  •  Brown Spots
  •  Facial Discoloration
  •  Deep Lines & Wrinkles
  •  Great for Wrinkles Around the Mouth (smoker's lip)
  •  Cellulite
  •  Stretch Marks
  •  Skin Firmness - Airbrushed Appearance
You can read much more about how it works here.

It is available in two different length needles, the shorter one can be retailed to your clients for at home use in combination with the services you provide. The longer needle roller is for professional use since it penetrates deeper into the skin.

I recently was reading an article about a woman interested in this service but could not find one single practitioner in her area....that seems outrageous to me. Are you missing out on clients searching for  this collagen producing treatment? It's definitely worth looking into!
